The group of like minded NGOs are taking part in this rally because despite the well-documented evidence of the decline of so many of our wild animals, and cases of wildlife crime occurring right across the UK – nature and wildlife remain low on the political agenda.
This is your chance to tell your MP face-to-face why nature and wildlife matter so much to all of us and why we must do more to protect it from those who wish to see it harmed.
- ending wildlife crime so that threatened species like hen harrier are able to fly free from harm at the hands of grouse shooters;
- celebrating and defending existing laws, such as the EU Birds and Habitats Directives, which provide the foundation for nature conservation in this country and if properly enforced would prevent spring hunting in Malta;
- legally underpinning nature’s recovery by establishing a Nature and Wellbeing Act to ensure nature is at the heart of how we live and run our country, as well as establishing long-term targets and powers to help protect wild animals.
