This year, on October 4th, the world will host the Global March for Elephants and Rhinos in cities all over the globe.
Incredibly, an elephant is killed once every 15 minutes for ivory. A rhino is slaughtered once every 9-11 hours for rhino horn. Poaching kills 35,000+ elephants a year, and more than 1,000 rhinos.
On October 4th, we will mark World Animal Day by marching for these incredible creatures and raise awareness of their barbaric treatment at the hands of our own species. In the UK, marches will be taking place in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and London, with thousands of people expected to turn out and add their voice.
To lodge your attendance please visit one of the links below. I will be attending the Edinburgh march, alongside hundreds of people as appalled by this situation as me. Hope to see some of you there – do come over and say hi!
